Henni is an inspiring community builder. Her knowledge of various online communities and experience in producing eco-design and salsa events enables her user-oriented style in the Community Support and Marketing tasks at Netcycler. A wide range of professional expertise has accumulated in development of web and advisory services for immigrants, when working in the field of Foreign Affairs as well as in retailing design. Henni’s education is in Textile Design and she grew up into an adult in New York City. To relax, she goes jogging to pick wild vegetables.
Pär is a cyclist and sailor who loves the Nordic archipelago and the small villages of Schwarzwald. He is convinced that the buy&dump consumption culture has no future. He is frugal by nature, and it has always pained him to see useful stuff being thrown away. Pär is an optimist who studied physics, but has made a long career in marketing - an experience he now uses to increase the use of Netcycler through building exciting partnerships. Previously, he has worked at F-Secure leading the marketing of IT security through a global ecosystem of telecom operators, and at Hewlett-Packard, always pushing the latest and greatest technologies.
Managing director and cofounder
Juha is a father of three and wants to work towards averting climate change. He likes to cycle and cook vegetarian food and is learning gardening. Earlier he has been a physics researcher and has worked in executive positions; developing, exporting and supporting mobile software for teleoperators worldwide. Juha holds a doctorate in technical physics.
Jussi, father of one child and one former stray dog, likes animals and wants to protect them. He has studied physics and marketing at TKK and in the USA in the early 1990s. Before Netcycler he was involved in the development and marketing detectors for medical devices. Jussi is enthusiastic runner and sometimes tries to make music.
Sonja is a Bachelor of Social Services and has previously worked e.g. with children's daycare. In her spare time she enjoys sports, reading classic crime stories and recycling things. She is also being kept busy by her 3-year old son and her 7-year old daughter. At Netcycler Sonja works in customer service.
Hendrik can be found outdoors hiking and fishing when he is not working. He is very interested in entrepreneurial and environmental matters, and runs his own company, Korpi Consulting. His background is in International Business Management and Corporate Environmental Management, and he strongly believes that climate change will be averted through entrepreneurial spirit and not politics. Hendrik is translating the Netcycler service into German.
Juri works on bringing Netcycler to mobile platforms. He has an M.Sc. in software engineering with a focus on interactive digital media and game design. Among many other things, he enjoys windsurfing, spending quality time with his dog, photography and playing WoW. Juri finds that it is both fun and ecologically sound to repair, maintain and recycle gadgets.
Daniel acts as an environmental specialist for Netcycler and is constantly searching for environmental data about the things in our web system. Daniel has studied environmental science in Germany with a focus on glaciers and hydrology in the Arctic. He uses his freetime volunteering in an international environmental, non-governmental organisation, but because he tries to live according to the old paddler's wisdom, “life is short, paddle hard!” - you can also often find him kayaking the Finnish waters.
Tara is a trained artist originally from Australia who likes bike riding and cooking. She is now studying in TAIK's media lab and works as an artist, making video and interactive artworks. The Netcycler art is done by Tara.
Dynamic modern swashbuckler Petri generates green code and improves the people skills of user-interfaces. Sometimes he finds the time to climb on huge rocks and every once in a while even to drag a rope up some even higher rocks. His newest waste of money & time is capturing breathtaking moments and landscapes on digital film.
Janne explores the Helsinki surroundings with his bicycle and enjoys scifi literature. At Netcycler Janne programs back-end systems and browser applications. Janne's professional background is mainly related to distributed systems and mobile applications, and he has graduated in software technology. In a higher sense, Janne enjoys star walking in the computer-telescope - context of Dijkstra. :)
